Our community believes that through strengthening our families we can strengthen our youth. From this belief we have begun to celebrate a community family night.

Family night is being held the third Monday of November every year.  The community can make it happen: Parents: Keep your calendar free of outside activities.  Spend a relaxing, fun evening with your children and extended family.

Educators are asked to send no homework home and schedule no meetings. Religious Leaders are asked to discuss the importance of family togetherness and encourage families to have a “Family Link Night”. Distribute materials and make this night meeting free.

Coaches are asked to schedule no practices on this night and encourage players to spend time with their families.  Community Leaders are asked to keep this night free of community events.  Share information and announcements to s how support of the importance of families.

The Gridley Herald runs articles/photos in the newspaper about families and how they spend time together.  Families are offered free family portraits for volunteering to have their family in the paper.  This event is also marketed through the school and churches.

The city of Gridley created an official proclamation, declaring the night officially as family night in the city, and moves their city council meeting in support of the family night.
