Making a Difference

We are a community of citizens in Gridley, California dedicated to the developmental needs of our young people and committed to creating an environment where all of our youth can grow and thrive.

Youth First is not a program, but a way of looking at the world. We want to help our community focus on its youth all the time: in our homes, schools, churches, businesses, and even on the streets. We believe that if we pull together we can make a positive difference in the lives of our youth; and that this will have the greatest long term impact on the safety and peace of our community.

We've chosen the 40 Development Assets from the Search Institute as the framework for our efforts. Assets are the building blocks of healthy development which help young people to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.
