Gridley Community Survey

Update: Our survey is finished and we're just waiting for the results. A HUGE thank you to all those of you who volunteered your precious time to make this happen. We couldn't have done it without all of you!

Completed!

We are currently working with Chico State to develop a Gridley Communtiy Survey. The survey will look at perceptions of the community in general, of the schools, race relations, Youth First, gang activity, youth resources, what is needed in Gridley for youth and more. It should be ready to administer by the end of April, but we are going to need a lot of help!

The survey will be a random sample of approximately 700 households within the Gridley Unified School District boundaries. The survey will be printed in English and Spanish.

The information gathered will be able to be used by all organization providing services in the Gridley area to improve services offered to our youth and families. It will also be used to help support any grant writing that will ultimately bring more services or recreation programs to Gridley.

These surveys will be hand delivered and picked up by volunteers who have been trained to do survey drop off and pick-ups.  Those household that get randomly selected to complete the survey will be provided with a few options of incentives to complete the survey in a timely manner.

Youth First is actively recruiting community members to volunteers to do drop off/pick up of these surveys.  We are looking for and need 80 volunteers who will go out in 40 teams to drop off approximately 20 surveys per team and then go pick them up.  These volunteers also need to be able to participate in a two-hour training before going out with the surveys. We also need up to 40 bilingual volunteers to participate in this process.  At this moment the dates are not exactly known, but it should be sometime around the last week of April.

Our vision is that the greater communities of Gridley and Biggs value all youth and support families and schools through collaboration among our government, businesses, schools, civic groups, and churches. To that end we believe this survey will help attain our vision.
